Intro to Glass Mosaics

Ex2 (1).JPG

Students will work with glass to create unique fine art mosaics. This class is a fun modern twist on an ancient art practice. During this workshop, you will learn the basics of creating a unique glass mosaic. This workshop is designed to be meditative and stress-reducing with students encouraged to go at their own pace.

What you’ll learn:

  • Creating a unique design

  • Adhering materials (or substrate)

  • Grouting mosaics

  • Bonus tricks and tips of the trade!

Included Materials:

  • Glass pieces

  • Woodbond All-Purpose Glue

  • Cradled Wood Panel

  • Your choice of Grout (black or white) as well as grouting process

  • Light snacks!

Mosaic-making is a *two* step process: the first-step is gluing the tessera to the substrate and the second-step is grouting. Dany, your instructor, will finish off your hand-made pieces with either black or white grout (your choice) and ship them to you at no extra cost!

NEW FEATURE: During the second half of the class, I will give a *live-demonstration* on how to grout a mosaic!

NOTE: Feel free to bring some of your own materials to add to your mosaic! Some potential materials are: broken glassware, pottery, buttons, jewelry, etc. Please keep in mind that the wood panel is 6x6”. Feel to email me if you have any questions about what you can bring!

*ALL skill levels are welcome. No experience necessary*

Tickets: $70 or $130 for two
