Always wanted to try your hand with clay, or new to clay and want to expand your skills? Join me in this beginner workshop as we learn the basics of hand-building techniques, and how to create that perfect addition to any home, a wall flower pot! Bring a friend and try something new in 2019! All ages welcome! All materials included! Mimosas will also be available. Individuals who choose to drink must be 21 or over. This class is family friendly and anyone under 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
*Please note: This is a multiple step process, your work will take 5-7 business days for bisque firing and work will be shipped for participants to paint at their convenience. Participants will be notified via email with a tracking number when work has been shipped. Most acrylic paints can be used to paint/decorate surface, see instructor if you would like to purchase small acrylic paint sets.*
About Your Host, Angelique Scott
Angelique Scott was born in Brooklyn, New York and has been working with clay for the past 9 years. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University in Art Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Craft & Material Studies with a concentration in ceramics and fibers. Over the years, she has shown work in numerous Virginia galleries such as The National Arts Program at Pine Camp, The Anderson, Art 180, and The Visual Arts Center of Richmond, etc. Her work has also been collected privately, both U.S. and abroad. Scott has received awards from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Virginia Commonwealth University, as well as multiple departmental grants and scholarships. She currently lives and works in Maryland.
