I’ve never met anyone who believed they could sew leather on their home machine, but I’m happy to say it’s possible (I started my business with just a base model Singer, in fact), and it’s easier than you probably think.
In this workshop, you’ll see how. First we’ll cover a few techniques that are important for successful leather sewing. Then I’ll help you sew your own envelope style clutch—on your own machine—based on the Avgvst design from the MATINE archives.
You’ll go home with your new clutch, along with the basic set of tools you’ll need to continue sewing leather on your own.
*Basic understanding of operating a sewing machine is required (threading the machine, bobbins, etc.). And all students must bring a sewing machine to class.*
