We are so excited to host this workshop in conjunction with Aayesha, @mehendi_wali. In this class we will focus on henna and its many applications. Included in the ticket price are the supplies to dye a lusciously thin wool scarf, instructions on placing pattern on fabric, as well as applying henna to your own skin. As a bonus, Aayesha will apply a professional level design to you if you wish.
About henna, from Aayesha:
Mehendi (Henna) has been a staple art form in many cultures across the eastern world. Trading allowed the different types of henna plants and designs travel across cultures. The mehendi style and practice you will learn within this workshop will primarily be Indian influenced with slight variations and twists combined with other prominent cultures. You'll learn about Tanzanian henna and designs, along with the distinct Moroccan designs and practices and many more! You'll also learn the qualities of henna that are useful for hair care, and how to prepare your mixture. Come prepared with an open mind and an open palm!
