Share Some Love: Postcards for Transgender Teens

Let’s show some support and love to the amazing, awesome kids and teens who are transgender, genderfluid or gender non-conforming. Why? Because they’re great--and because they’re being attacked.

On February 22, the Trump administration rescinded rules that require schools to allow transgender youth to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity. This is just one attack on transgender children and youth in the U.S., who have been consistently marginalized and harassed.

Please join us to write loving, affirming cards and notes for transgender youth in D.C. and North Carolina. We’ll provide blank, decorate-able cards and supplies, as well as preprinted cards if you’re not feeling artistic.

Cards will be distributed to Sexual Minority Youth Assistance League (SMYAL) in Washington, D.C., as well as mailed to Time Out Youth in Charlotte, N.C. Both groups have long histories of helping LGBTQ youth.

Drop in any time between 3:30 and 5:30 to write one, two, five or more postcards. All are welcome. Attendance is free, but donations for supplies and for Time Out Youth and SMYAL are gratefully accepted.

Can’t wait to see you there.
