Learn the basics of Block Printing with Kate on Thursday October 13th from 6:30pm-8pm at The Lemon Bowl.
What is Block Printing? It's a type of relief printing where design motifs are printed with wooden, linoleum or rubber blocks. Woodblock Printing is one of the earliest methods of textile printing. We will be using rubber to create blocks for printing in this class.
What you'll learn: We'll look at examples of block printing, discuss various techniques on how to design for relief printing, then we'll turn a simple sketch into a block and colorful prints!
What you'll get: Rubber blocks to create your designs and high quality art paper for printing. Each person will take home their prints and the blocks that they create!

Kate Zaremba is a wallpaper and textile artist based in Washington, D.C. and co-founder of The Lemon Bowl. She teaches Pattern in Repeat, The Art of Paper Cut Out and Block Printing classes from her studio in Park View (aka Lemon Bowl!).
