“caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.” - audre lorde
join us for a nut mylk and raw cookie workshop that highlights ingredients with healing properties. led by almila kakinc-dodd of thirlby, our workshop will focus on baking as a form of self care and body positivity. participants will learn how to make raw, nutrient-dense cookies and creamy nut mylks to dip them in.
the workshop will include an introduction to adaptogenic herbs, medicinal mushrooms, and how to use them to combat the stress of daily life. adaptogens are herbs, foods, and roots that increase the body's resilience and resistance to disease— popular in eastern medicine, they work with your body to help it function at its best and brightest.
almila kakinc-dodd will share her personal story on her autoimmune diagnosis and how she uses these adaptogens as food therapy to successfully combat her symptoms.
