As the ELU celebrates its one year anniversary (!!!) we'll be going back to our roots and discussing emotional labor, the mental load, and their oftentimes unequal distribution in relationships both personal and professional. This event is open to anyone who would like to attend (female or male-identifying, non-gender conforming, you name it - if you're a human and you want to discuss this topic - you are welcome!) We'll discuss such questions as:
What is emotional labor/mental load?
How do these ideas manifest in our personal/professional relationships?
What can we do to be more cognizant of this often invisible work?
What are some ways we can level the playing field?
As always there will be wine, snacks and a good time!
About your host
The Emotional Labor Union is a monthly feminist discussion group that welcomes everyone. This event costs money because we believe in the fair compensation of women's labor. If the cost is prohibitive to you please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We'd like this event to be accessible to everyone.
