The Bitter Truth
Honest discussions on business ownership, minus the sugar-coating
** This event will be held at General Assembly, at 1133 15th St NW **
The average time it takes to post a picture on Instagram is 21.6 minutes.
Okay, we made that statistic up. But we'd bet we're not far off.
People — in particular business owners — put a lot of effort into making their forward-facing personas look perfect, from tidy “About Us” pages to painstakingly curated Instagram accounts.
We know it's not the real story.
In The Bitter Truth, a new discussion series hosted by The Lemon Collective, we remove the filter from the usual discourse and give business owners a platform to discuss the juicy stuff: their stumbles, blunders and fuck-ups, and everything they learned along the way.
Join us for our very first discussion featuring Rose Previte, world traveler and owner of D.C.’s beloved Compass Rose and Maydan restaurants. We’ll discuss the mistakes she made, wisdom she gained, and how a brutal winter in Siberia inspired the restaurants she runs today.
Our focus is on real conversations that inspire, give hope, and humanize the people we look up to. Join us!
The discussion will be led by Holley Simmons, co-founder of The Lemon Collective and contributing writer for The Washington Post.
By purchasing a ticket, you agree to receive communication from General Assembly.
