There is a gender gap in the Crypto and Blockchain Tech community. Estimates of the number of women investors and users of cryptocurrency vary, but most put female participation between 1% to 5%.
The goal of this forum is to make cryptocurrency and blockchain technology approachable for women who are interested in learning and investing. This first session is a free, pre-launch discussion intended to better understand the barriers to entry for women, areas of highest interest for learning (e.g. history, technology, marketplace dynamics). The information gleaned from discussion will inform an upcoming launch event, which will feature women in various roles in the crypto space.
Who should attend:
- You are new to this field and want to learn about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies
- You are interested in investing in cryptocurrencies
- You want to connect and meet with professionals in this space
- You want to be part of the digital currency industry
This event is open to women and men of all professional backgrounds and ethnicities.
Other: the information discussed as part of this event is not intended to be, and should not be, construed or used as legal or investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer or solicitation of an offer to trade in cryptocurrencies.
Cryptocurrency investments are volatile and involve a high degree of risk. Several federal agencies have published advisory documents surrounding the risks of virtual currency. For more information, please see the CFPB’s Consumer Advisory, the CFTC’s Customer Advisory, and the SEC’s Investor Alert.
