Join Monica Weeks for a workshop on how to be an effective activist using digital advocacy.

Participants will learn from the Tech2Empower initiative which provides technology tools and training to gender, social justice, and women's rights leaders and their organizations to help amplify their important work.

This workshop will focus on digital advocacy and how to prepare a strong message, how to identify your audience, and strategic storytelling. We will also go over ways to use social media to deliver your message and explore different tools to make your org's work more impactful. Participants will also learn how to keep their work secure and how to ensure they are protecting their organizations and their personal privacy.

Lastly, this workshop will touch on self care and participants will have an opportunity to prepare a self care plan.

About your host, Monica Weeks

Monica recently completed Tech2Empower's week long training where she learned from experts from Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube Mozilla, Symantec, and Slack. She serves as President of the DC National Organization for Women chapter, chair of the Immigrations Protection Committee on NOW’s national board, and Vice President and a Board member of Women’s March DC. Monica also served as a fellow on the Hillary Clinton campaign in the 2016 Iowa caucus. She has a passion for mission-driven change and has skills in partnership development, team leadership, and effective communication.
