In this workshop students will learn how to make a series of tiny books that are perfect for gift-giving, personalization, and decoration! We will cover a few simple pamphlet variations as well as a slightly more complicated buttonhole stitch. Everyone is encouraged to experiment and come up with their own ways to sew tiny books as well. Students will leave this workshop with several tiny books to gift, trade, or keep!
About your host, Aubrey Dunn
Aubrey Dunn is a bookmaker and printer living and working in Baltimore and Washington DC. She studied Art History and Book Arts (yes, it’s a real degree!) and now balances her own studio practice with teaching and spreading her love of books and print. She found her way into artists’ books after falling in love with the way that making a book was the perfect combination of structure and creativity. When she’s not in the studio you can probably find her drinking copious amounts of espresso and planning her next traveling adventure.
